This week we travel to the giant snow walls at Tateyama and I show you how you get there from the Hakuba side. This is where it all started on my first video in late November just before they close up for the winter and let this incredible amount of snow settle. They open back up in mid April to show off the huge walls of snow. As you see in the video there are a lot of skiers and snowboarders heading up there to hike in the BC. I usually bring some crew up there but international tourism is still locked out so here I am without the thousands of foreigners checking out the place. It is a very popular route with Asians who have never seen snow before. This year surprisingly the wall grew to only 14 mts. March was light on for snow which kept the number down. The largest walls were measured at just under 24 so just think an extra 10 meters on that would be crazy. It truly is an amazing place to go to and I can certainly recommend a trip up there. Visiting Hakuba in mid April may not deliver any fresh snow for you but when you consider that you can still ski 800 meters of in resort verticle, check out the cherry blossoms in the region and also do the Alpen tour to the giant snow walls then it all adds up to a pretty good holiday experience.
That’s it for this week. Thanks for watching. I got to say thank you to all those that have subscribed. I’m stoked to have you all on board.
See you next week.

This weeks drink of choice is Laphroaig 10 year old Islay single malt scotch whisky on the rocks. A good one to sit on.
