Olympic Torch Relay Day 19 – Nara 🗾

Here are some of our favourite moments from the final day in Nara Prefecture!

The journey began in Koryo Town, a location that for a short time between 640 and 642 AD was the capital of Japan. From there, the flame made its way to Kawai Town and Kashiba City, Yamatotakada City, Yoshino Town, Ikaruga Town, Yamatokoriyama City and Nara City, Uda City and Ikoma City, before ending its journey in Nara City. 🔥

Quick Fact of the Day – Did you know that Nara City was the first permanent capital of Japan? Today, Nara city is still filled with ancient treasures, artefacts and temples. 🇯🇵
