We visited Numazu in Shizuoka Prefecture mid-December last year and had a pretty chill time there.
Numazu is at the northwestern end of the Izu Peninsula, between Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay, and is a nice retro port town reminiscent of Japan’s Showa period. We visited an interesting traditional cafe, relaxed at the beach, hit up the nearby Numazu Deep Sea Aquarium and explored the fish market at Numazu Port.
The Izu Peninsula area definitely has plenty to offer and we hope to keeping going back!
