Diu might not be the most popular beach destination in India but that’s precisely what makes it such a good option if you’re looking for some privacy and isolation. That doesn’t mean that the beaches are totally deserted either: adrenaline junkies will find adequate facilities for water sports and there are a number of restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy a quiet repast. Apart from beaches, Diu also tops the chart of famous places to visit in Diu.

1) Nagoa Beach
This horseshoe-shaped beach is almost a twenty minutes’ drive from Diu and a perfect beach to bask in the sun. Located in Nagoa near Bucharwada village, this is an exceptionally beautiful and serene stretch of sand. Getting there is half the fun with the drive winding through pretty countryside and coconut groves. For those who’d rather get their adrenaline pumping the beach has various water sports outfits which take visitors jet-skiing, water-skiing and parasailing.

The old fishing village known by the name of Nagao has a namesake beach shaped like a horse-shoe. Not just its shape it outstanding, but the portfolio too: it is a 2 kilometer long stretch of white sands, unstained sea waters and scantily populated shores. The beach has coconut groves and quiet corners for brooding souls and ample options such as jet skiing, water-skiing and parasailing etc. for adrenaline junkies. What more, there are sufficient food kiosks in the area to keep those refreshment cravings at bay.

2) Jalandhar Beach
This beach is known more for its religious importance than its sun and surf quotient. Famous for the Jallandhar Shrine situated on a hillock near the beach, it is located just about a kilometre from Diu town. Close to the shrine lies a well-known Hindu temple of the goddess Chandrika. This beach is popular mostly with pilgrims and devotees.

3) GHOGHLA BEACH
This golden sand beach is situated in the village of Ghoghla which extends into the neighbouring state of Gujarat. In the latter, it is known as Ahemadpur Mandvi. This is Diu’s largest beach and famous for its splendid view, cathedrals, and fortresses. Foodies will like Ghoghla for the excellent fare dished out by the numerous restaurants near the beach.
