Nagasaki is a compact town that is very close to the city and nature.
If you walk from Nagasaki Station to the foot of Mt. Iwasa and take the ropeway, you can reach the observatory where you can get a 360 degree view of the city.
You can also see Gunkanjima in the distance. This video also shows a close-up of the view.
I highly recommend a trip to Nagasaki.
