西穂高岳

西穂高岳へは上高地の田代橋から東側を登り西穂山荘へ至るルートと新穂高ロープーウェイを使った２ルートがあります。新穂高ロープーウェイを使えば日帰りも可能です。
第二ロープーウェイの降り口である西穂高口駅周辺は千石園地と呼ばれ、観光客用に遊歩道が整備されています。山頂駅から千石尾根を登ります。コメツガやオオシラビソが生い茂る原生林の中を1時間３０分ほど登ると西穂山荘に到着します。その間時折、木々の間から左手前方に西穂高岳の稜線や南岳から伸びる主稜線の先に槍ヶ岳が望めます。通年営業をしている西穂山荘の脇から西穂高岳に向け登山道が始まります。
The Hotaka mountain range is in the Northern Japanese Alps running north-south along the border of Gifu and Nagano prefectures. Consisting of peaks that include Mt. Kitahotaka (Kitahotaka-dake), Mt. Maehotaka (Maehotaka-dake), Mt. Karasawa (Karasawa-dake), and the highest peak of Mt. Okuhotaka (Okuhotaka-dake), it’s a popular destination with hikers. This route showcases Mt. Nishihotaka (Nishihotaka-dake). It’s one of the range’s most popular peaks as the ropeway brings you part of the way up, and Nishiho Sanso mountain hut is open year-round.
