How do you make the already romantic city of Kyoto even more romantic? You do it by lining the traditional streets with beautiful lanterns. During March, the Higashiyama area was decorated with approximately 2500 lanterns made from traditional Japanese materials. The lanterns lined the 5km path that lead to the foothills of the Higashiyama mountains. The area was also decorated with Ikebana Promenades, Contemporary Ikebana Exhibits and art work created by students from art universities and colleges affiliated with Kyoto.
The lanterns and exhibits added another layer of beauty to Kyoto, making it the perfect place to stroll around with your loved ones. Enjoy!
