After spending a few days in Kyoto, we then travelled to Nagano to stay with some friends for a little while in the countryside. There were many fantastic views to be seen on the journey between Kyoto and Nagano, so I ended up recording quite a lot of videos! The journey also took quite a long time, around 5 hours, and was spread across 4 different trains, starting on a super-fast bullet train and ending on a tiny local train as we got closer to our remote destination. This first video is from the initial leg of the journey, travelling between Kyoto and Nagoya on the Hikari Shinkansen (Bullet Train).
Nagano is a very mountainous region, but throughout the journey there were some good views of mountains. You can see a nice big one in this clip, along with some rice fields and towns as well.
