One of my recommend activity while travelling and shopping along the otaru canal is stopping at Antique Museum branch of Otaru Music Box Museum.
There is a 15 minutes-show every hours from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm and it’s free!
Here ‘s an example of the Aeolian pipe organ.
This Pipe Organ was built in 1908 and installed in a hall in Yorkshire, England. Later, it was moved to the Corn wall Mechanical Museum and the last Otaru Music Box Museum. With 690 pipes, this organ is usually played by hand but can be played automatically if desired. One hundred paper rolls are available for automatic performances. This automatic pipe organ was the first of its kind introduced to Japan.
