Watch bullet train ride from Shinkansen on its way between Shizuoka and Tokyo in Japan. At the start of the video you’ll get a glimpse of the particular bullet train from which the train ride video is taken. Bullet train is known as Sinkansen in Japan and most places around the world. The name “Bullet Train” came about probably because of the speed these trains can travel at.
300 km per hour is about the average traveling speed for Shinkansen trains. The trains travel between 240 km/h to 320 km/h or 150 to 199 mph. It is a fast train speed which decades ago was very unusual anywhere else besides Japan.
Now some countries are catching up but it’s still very special to go by train at this speed.
Shinkansen trains run on separate tracks from all other trains. Between Tokyo and Osaka there are up to 13 trains per hour running in each direction with sixteen cars in each train. That is a capacity of 1323 seats in every train.
Enjoy.
