Geisha, tea ceremonies, temples…Kyoto is famous for all these, but did you know it also boasts a famous beach? In the north of Kyoto Prefecture lies “The Bridge to Heaven,” or Amanohashidate. This refers to a sandbar in the Miyazu Bay, which is said to act as a pathway between heaven and earth. It is one of Japan’s top three scenic views and is best viewed … upside down. The local area has plenty more activities for the visitor.
