April 15.2020 the final day of our trip to Mount Fuji we are strolling for hours on the shore of Lake YAMANAKA, as you can see there are no people and that’s why the Swans are really hungry and happy to get the bread that I both especially for them and even worse, try to eat my fingers as well😱😨. actually we will see a bunch of school kids of different ages going and returning from school and road constructions are going on, probably this area is not really affected by the virus lockdown. well actually Japan does not have any lock down, they just politely beg us to not gather together!! the highway bus back to Tokyo Shinjuku is empty, I am the only customer, sitting far enough from the driver in perfect social distancing. these buses are traveling around the lakes and Mount Fuji at the normal schedule, however they are almost empty, so they are rather lucky that my ticket will hopefully pay at least for the gasoline this time… it costs around $20 one way to get from Shinjuku to Mount Fuji and there are lovely hotels at around $50-$100 per person! this is a huge resort area however most of the souvenir and attractions and restaurants are not operating now…but since there are no people, you can take stunning photos in total social distancing and safe!
