Although you may be stuck inside, you can still enjoy the sounds of a tranquil Japanese garden such as can be found at Sayama Park in Saitama prefecture. Once used to startle grazing animals, the sound of the bamboo fountain known as shishi-odoshi is now a common centerpiece in gardens.
