The Japanese priest Bastian was one of many who continued to spread Christianity even when it was banned by the Shogunate. One of his hiding places was a stone hut located in the mountains
of Sotome, Nagasaki. People call this tiny hideout Bastian’s Residence. Ultimately, he was arrested and martyred at Nishizaka.
