Would you buy this art if you found it in a store? Which piece is your favorite?
We love buying Japanese Art to add to our collection or to give to our family as presents, and our favorite place to do this so far has been a temporary book and record shop on the top floor of a shopping center in downtown Sendai. The 9th floor of the E-Beans building is split into a record market and a used-book fair. The book fair also has plenty of magazines, posters, postcards, movies and other random memorabilia.
There is higher-end art in good shape, costing almost $1000, and some unknown or bad-quality pieces for $1. Some of the pieces are obviously pages from magazines or books, and others are hand-painted.
In this video, we show you some of the pieces that we considered, but ultimately said no, and the pieces that we actually picked up. You can also learn why!

As you might have realized, we’re moving home to the U.S. in March. There are several small reasons why we’re leaving Japan, but mostly we feel like it’s time to try some new things.
In the meantime, let us know if there’s anything you’d like to see before we leave. If we can, we’ll film it before we leave, then upload it after we move.
Before then, you can expect some sketchbook tours, an apartment tour, and a video about how we get around every day.
