In this travel vlog, I discuss how I want from lawyer to nomad, how this Lawyer quits job to travel and a 2019 recap of digital nomad life. I was fascinated with travel vloggers and the digital nomad life. This is my own 2019 Rewind! I really fortunate that I get to travel the world nonstop now. I am definitely committed to the digital nomad lifestyle and staying location independent.

I think experienced digital nomads, lawyers, and travel vloggers will find my story pretty interesting. I also think this serves as a mini Remote Year review for those interested in that program.

I worked at a great place with great people but I wasnโ€™t happy for some reason. I kept coming home and watching travel vloggers and listening to travel podcastsโ€ฆ.wishing I was doing what they were doing. People like Story Chasing, Beer for Breakfast, Remote Darren, Living on a One Way, Chubby and Away, Johnny FD and The Budget Minded Traveler. I am not sure exactly when it happened but sometime in December 2018, I made the decision to leave my job as a corporate lawyer and become a full time travel vlogger.

This brings me to 2019. In January I started planning my travel adventure and I also started making YouTube videos. They were pretty bad but I was excited to get started. I made a video about minimalism, one about what you need to do to prepare to for full time travel, one about what I was packing, a few videos about merino wool. This was a very exciting time even though I was still going through the day to day monotony of work.

Finally at the beginning of Feb, I left my job! I went from being a corporate lawyer making lots of money to being a travel vlogger making no money! It was scary but I was really excited about the prospect of building my own thing and working for myself.

I did a couple a few cool things this month. First, I was interviewed by Jimmy and Amanda from Chubby and Awayโ€™s on their Podcast called the Pudgecast. Then I flew to Phoenix to interview and be interviewed by Amber from Story Chasing. Last, I went and spent time with my mother, father and siblings before embarking on an awesome adventure with Remote Year.

So I just mentioned RY…so let me back up a little bit here and talk about Remote Year. When I finally realized I wanted to leave my job and travel full time, I really didnโ€™t know how to do that. How would it work logistically, where would I go. I started doing some research and by chance I ran across this company called Remote Year. Iโ€™m not going to go into them too much but I liked what they had to offer. Live in 12 countries over 12 months, travel with a bunch of like-minded people, go to places I might not have went to on my own and they handle all the logistics so I could focus on building my new YouTube channel.

On March 3rd, I hopped on a one way flight to Lima. The adventure that awaited me proved to be awesome!
