Kakunodate is a former feudal town with well-preserved samurai residences. Free entrance into many but no video is allowed. So… let’s gloss over them and skip to the Autumn Festival.
Held for 2 days every year on September 7-9, we were extremely lucky to visit on the last day. Immense floats are pulled through the streets!
