TOKYO (Kyodo) — Japan’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday lowered travel warnings for parts of Israel, two other Middle Eastern countries and Palestine after raising them in the wake of U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran in late February that heightened regional tensions.
For Israel and Palestine, warnings for some areas were lowered from a level 3 alert, which warns against all travel, to level 2, which calls for avoiding all nonessential travel, the ministry said.
No attacks had been observed since June in the areas covered by the level 3 warning, the ministry said.
For some parts in Iraq and Lebanon, the ministry downgraded the alert from level 4, which urges evacuation, to level 3, noting that some companies and entities need to travel to the regions for reconstruction and recovery efforts.
