🚲 🚞 A quiet four-day journey through Hokkaido without renting a car—travelling by train, e-bike and on foot through Biei, the Furano area, Sapporo and Otaru.

I began among the rolling fields of Biei, cycling to small farms and cafés before continuing to Hinode Park and Farm Tomita. From there, I travelled to Sapporo aboard the Furano–Biei Norokko Train, tried local Hokkaido food and explored the city’s landmarks. The journey ended with a slow day wandering through Otaru’s historic streets and along its famous canal.

Travelling around Hokkaido without a car wasn’t always easy, but slowing down led to moments I might otherwise have missed.
