A new glamping facility has recently opened near Tobu Zoo, offering an additional accommodation option within easy reach of central Tokyo. Operated by Tobu Top Tours, the site provides a nature-focused overnight experience that can be incorporated into wider itineraries across the Tobu Railway area.

New glamping experience combining outdoor stays with comfort

The newly opened “GRANPHIL RESORTS TOBU” is located adjacent to Tobu Zoo in Saitama Prefecture, approximately one hour from central Tokyo via Tobu Railway. The facility offers a glamping-style stay that combines outdoor accommodation with hotel-like comfort, catering to families, small groups and travellers seeking experiential stays beyond central Tokyo.

Set within a green, open environment, the site allows visitors to enjoy a relaxed, nature-oriented atmosphere while maintaining convenient access to the capital. As demand grows for experiential and slower-paced travel, the facility provides an alternative accommodation option that can complement traditional city-based itineraries.

At present, reservations are primarily available via a Japanese-language website; however, the facility may be suitable for inclusion in tailor-made programmes or guided tours arranged through travel professionals.

Tobu Zoo: a family-friendly attraction with seasonal appeal

Located next to the glamping site, Tobu Zoo combines a zoological park with amusement facilities, making it particularly well suited to family and multi-generational travel. The park features a wide range of animal exhibits alongside rides and seasonal events.

From mid-March to early April, cherry blossoms bloom across the park, adding seasonal appeal and providing an opportunity to incorporate spring-themed experiences into itineraries. The combination of accommodation, attractions and seasonal scenery supports the development of overnight or short-stay programmes in the area.

Access and wider Tobu Railway connections

Tobu Zoo is accessible from central Tokyo via Tobu Railway services. The area can be positioned as part of a broader itinerary including Asakusa, a key gateway to Tobu Railway’s network.

From Asakusa, travellers can also access Nikko, a UNESCO World Heritage destination known for its historic shrines and natural landscapes, as well as Kawagoe, often referred to as “Little Edo” for its preserved historic streets. Together, these destinations offer a range of cultural, historical and nature-based experiences within easy reach of Tokyo.
