Japan’s new leader tours Asia, pitching stability in troubled times

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is attempting to raise Japan’s profile at a time when China’s clout is rising and doubts about the United States are spreading.

USSC CEO Dr Michael Green spoke with The New York Times on Prime Minister Takaichi’s visit to Australia this week, saying “She has the most powerful mandate of any Japanese prime minister since Abe… She’s now using it to go out and build relationships with her counterparts that will last for years.”
