Kada, Wakayama – Japan’s Best-Kept Seaside Secret

A silent walk through Kada, a quiet coastal town in Wakayama.

Starting from Kada Station, this walk passes small streets, local buildings, and a peaceful shrine, before opening to the sea. Along the coast, distant islands drift on the horizon, fishing boats move slowly across the water, and the sound of seabirds fills the air.

The path continues along a breakwater lined with hand-painted walls, then returns past Awashima Shrine and follows the shoreline south. In the end, a short climb through the trees leads to a white lighthouse overlooking the sea.

A calm, unspoken journey through a town shaped by water and time.
