At 3,776 meters above sea level, Mount Fuji is the highest peak in Japan and has been a sacred mountain in the country since ancient times. It is an active volcano, although the last eruption occurred in 1707. Its beautiful and majestic appearance is a source of awe, inspiration, and spirituality for the Japanese people.
A month ago, Aoi Travel Video published a lovely tour of some places near that mountain from which you can enjoy splendid views of Mount Fuji. A magnificent video with indescribably beautiful scenery. The video has English subtitles; you can activate them in the bottom bar of the player.
You can see some screenshots from this excellent video here. This is Honcho Street in Fujiyoshida, a city of about 53,000 inhabitants located near Mount Fuji. It must be wonderful to have these views every day when you leave home.

The frozen surface of Lake Shoji. It is one of the Fuji Five Lakes, which give their name to a region located at the foot of that mountain, in Yamanashi Prefecture. In the video, you can hear the curious sound the ice makes as it breaks.

Lake Motosu, seen from the Koan campsite. It’s another of the Fuji Five Lakes. The video’s creator camped there and shows footage of sunset and sunrise. It’s one of the most beautiful parts of the video.

A bench on Lake Motosu. Possibly one of the best places in the world to sit and contemplate a landscape.
