What Japan’s Most Insane Baseball Stadium on Game Day is like

Japan is known for taking things to another level, and this might be the most insane example yet. I traveled from Tokyo to Hokkaido to visit Es Con Field, home of the Nippon Ham Fighters, and easily one of the most advanced baseball stadiums in Japan. If you are into Japan travel, Tokyo travel, or planning a Japan guide, this is one of the most unique things to do in Japan. This stadium is more than just baseball. It has a built in onsen, sauna, hotel rooms overlooking the field, seats for dogs, a batting simulator, over 50 restaurants, and even a massive playground. It feels less like a stadium and more like a full entertainment theme park built around Japanese baseball culture. After a two hour flight from Tokyo and another hour by train, I finally made it. The goal was simple. Do as much as possible before the game ended, get a piece of the field, and somehow make it onto the massive Jumbotron. From exploring every level to trying Tokyo style stadium food, this Japan travel food experience turned into one of the wildest days I have had. This is what baseball in Japan looks like when it goes all out.

  1. Paolo, thanks for just being you, you got me through covid at home, post covid waiting for your videos and tonight, an unexpected treat 🙂

  2. I went to a match where the Fighters came to Fukuoka to play the Hawks and their cheerleaders did the Kitsune Dance… Japanese baseball is the best

  3. I was there around July 2025..favorite experience since it was also my 1st time to watch a baseball game live, at that time there were 2 local teams playing for a title (Highschool students I think), it was so energetic & intense! 🎉 unforgettable! Es con field is so massive & I love the architecture!!!

  4. This is awesome!! I'll have to share this with my friend. Her son is a pitcher for a base ball team.

  5. It's crazy how the little things are what makes us the happiest. You could climb the highest mountains, drive the fastest cars or even eat the best foods in the world but In my opinion nothing really beats spending time with loved ones.

  6. bro I was just thinking about this, I was like Paolo should go into japanese sports. I'm really curious to see a day in the life of a player in a top japanese high school baseball team (ace of diamond).

  7. Your wife looked like she’s forced to go with you. Why didn’t you just ask a friend who’s into baseball – surely that’s not hard to find in Japan. You don’t always need to stick with your Japanese wife all the time. Get some friends dude.

  8. @PaolofromTOKYO It was Sooo stressful watching you running around trying to do all the things…

It would have been just as satisfying watching even half the things you did… Or make 2 separate visits… Your Family would have enjoyed more time with you also

  9. Very cool. I had a chance to attend a Fighters game last summer when visiting Hokkaido. While the regular seating was sold out, I was able to buy a standing room ticket at the box office by the entrance and still had a blast.

  10. I saw a game there a little under 2 years ago. There's so much more in the stadium than I realized

  11. This is seriously one of your best videos! And that stadium is AMAZING! I wish we could do something like this in the US.
