Japan is changing a lot these days.
It’s not just “people don’t wanna marry”… it’s way deeper than that.
Money, freedom, stress, work… even just enjoying life alone.
Be honest… in today’s world, is marriage even worth it anymore?
Very informative
👍
Of course marriage is worth it, that's a odd question. If anything, a person who is actively against marriage needs to seek help.
The real reason the birth rate is low in a lot of countries, not just Japan, is modern feminism. And by default, if a person is not for modern feminism, that person will be for marriage.
So basically many Japanese have submitted to the material world sacrificing the Love of Life.
Singlehood is increasing in all developed countries (from the United States to Europe), and in some ways, the causes in Japan (with its own peculiarities) are common. But speaking of Japan, Tokyo is a terrible city to raise a family in (from my point of view): expensive tiny houses, transportation costs, and the overall cost of living. But I think loneliness in Japan is a serious problem, often not a choice, but rather something that society inexorably leads you to. There's a lack of communication in that country, and people need to be able to freely choose whether they want to be single or not, which isn't the case today. Let's not romanticize something like being single when in Japan "it's not a free choice"; they simply push you into it. Well, now I think they're going to tax single people, hahaha. I don't know if that's the solution. Regards.
Reminds me of the Mouse Utopia experiments.
There’s nothing natural about the plummeting birth rates and marriage rates. The people who run the world have a Malthusian worldview in which they believe the earth should only have roughly 1 billion inhabitants. They’re decreasing men’s testosterone levels through the food, water and over saturation to blue light technology while they target the women with hormonal birth control and feminist propaganda. It’s incredible how ignorant the general public is when it comes to this topic. Most will read this and tell themselves that it’s just a conspiracy theory no further inquiry needed.
The future belongs to those who are passing down their genes.
I guess we’re reaching end stage capitalism. This is the result of living a life of hedonism and materialism which ends in nihilism.
With Japan in particular, putting aside the overwork issues, the stress and things involved in that you mentioned. imo modern feminism does play into all that.
Years ago, a man was looked at the be the bread winner, make the money and provide. Now that women can and often do make as much money as men do today, (And I'm not saying women shouldn't be in the workforce) there can be less incentive for a women to look at a man the same. As a provider, because he's "on the same level" ,instead of above financially.
Less desire, hookup culture, long work hours, less time, all one big social mess.
If they like it I love it
the problem is the too much social interaction like this:

Hopefully the situation is better outside the large cities in Japan. Like South Korea, the replacement birthrate is not enough to carry Japan into the next century. They will run out of people as they age and pass away. Bringing in new people from outside won't work as we have experienced the chaos that results from that in places like Europe, Canada, and the USA. It never ceases to amaze me on your many walks through the 🔴 light districts how many young women are there with cellphones waiting for clients or the many barmaids standing with menus. Most of them turn away when they see you videoing. Won't the government and large corporations do anything to help reduce working hours and provide incentives for marriage and starting a family like the government in Hungary does?
I really like this “walk and talk” style video. As someone living in the US, It’s just downright too expensive to have kids. Inflation is rising while wages remain stagnant. Why make my life even more stressful with kids to take care of when my life is already extremely stressful with finances and work WITHOUT kids?
Even if the population naturally declines to zero, it should remain Japanese to the very end. I believe the Japanese people will find a solution though
Marriage has lost its charm to that point that its not even worth it i have same mindset chose to stay single 6 years ago and going to stay like this till the end.
