We came to see art.
The blizzard had other plans.
Trapped. No way out.
Just me and this massive white building disappearing into the storm. โ๏ธ
This is the Aomori Museum of Art.
Designed to look like an excavation site.
Pure white walls. Minimalist. Cold.
But inside? Inside, I found warmth.
I walked through the galleries. Marc Chagall’s massive ballet backdrops.
Floor-to-ceiling color. But then I found him.
The Aomori Dog. 8.5 meters of pure white sculpture by Yoshitomo Nara, staring out the window into the snow.
I sat down. Didn’t move.
Just watched the snow fall with this giant, silent companion.
Outside was chaos. Inside was peace.
The dog didn’t judge. Didn’t rush. Just… was. ๐ถ๐
Hours passed.
The storm raged. But my mind? It stopped.
Staring at that dog, surrounded by art and white walls, I realized something: Getting stuck isn’t failure. It’s an invitation to slow down.
