Exciting. Tried to look for the fried pork or chicken but painfully missing from this craziness 😅

If I ever visit the UK I’ll starve

I hate that the UK uses the word Katsu to mean Japanese curry

This is like the opposite of the famous 1961 hit song Ue Wo Muite Arukou by Sakamoto Kyu.

It was released in the West under the title “Sukiyaki.” As in the beef dish. No, it had nothing to do with sukiyaki.

How can they name something “katsu” and not include any katsu….?

The main outrage is that it’s a tenner

They missed the opportunity to call it Japanese Katsoup!

I would absolutely return that because it is not what I ordered. Actually I’d probably leave without paying, food untouched, without a word, because I may have ordered but I did not receive my order.

This looks like it has nothing to do with katsu nor Japanese food at all

  9. Thanks for this image. I would have never known that UK uses katsu as a name for curry, not realizing what it means. It’s a bit insulting really.

the word “katsu” literally comes from the English word “cutlet” but OK, England

The British couldn’t be bothered to learn the differences between different Indian dishes, so they called them all curry. Guess the same applies to other cuisines.

they should just call it English katsu soup
