After six months travelling across the United States, we returned to Japan, the country we call home. Rather than take you back to our quiet little village, we wanted to show you a more energetic side of life here, somewhere that feels alive from the moment you step into it. So we headed to Osaka.

This was also a chance to show just how easy Japan can be to explore. Using Klook, we kept the whole trip simple and stress free, with everything from transport to our hotel sorted in advance. We started at Osaka Castle, one of those places that still carries real weight even surrounded by the modern city, before making our way into America Mura, where American influence has been filtered through something unmistakably Japanese. We browsed for Alabama merch, grabbed a couple of beers, and watched the skaters roll through the streets as the afternoon drifted on.

Later, we took the train to Kobe using QR code tickets on our phones, the kind of small convenience that makes travelling here feel so smooth. Kobe has its own atmosphere entirely, a port city with an international past and a connection to American history that still lingers around the waterfront. As night fell, we ducked into a local izakaya, drank with salarymen finishing their working day, and settled into the kind of place that reminds you how much of Japan’s charm lives in its ordinary evenings.

To top it all off, we finally tried A5 Kobe beef for the first time, one of those meals that feels almost too rich to be real. Afterwards, we made our way back to the beautiful Candeo Osaka Tower, the hotel we booked through Klook, and looked out over the city lights. Japan can feel intimidating from afar, but trips like this are a reminder of how easy, exciting, and deeply rewarding it can be once you’re here.

  1. Super disappointed in you guys… laughed at a fake Viet Nam vet hat which represents stolen valor… disgusting. Then put on a jap hat with the sun that attacked USA and killed thousands, sickened.

  2. Where I used to live in Virginia, we had 4 or 5 7-11s within a 5 minute drive of my house, but we had very very different products!

  3. Love and pray for you guys always! Greetings and salutations from Tucson Arizona… You should get an Arizohna Wildcat hat they're in the final 4 in basketball this year. Just an admonition, Jack! lol ps… Please come back to America?! πŸ™‚

  4. I'm confused. I thought Jack couldnt drink carbonated drinks, but he is having a beer on the train?

  5. Just an aside, it is fried chicken and waffles in the U.S. not pancakes. and the 7-eleven corp. is a Japanese owned company.

  6. What’s your guys story? Been relatively new to your channel and really interested in how Japan became your home and the different languages you speak. Quite impressive!

  7. Put your dirty Alabama hat in a dishwasher. When you get it out it will be greatly improved. Roll Tide

  8. Jack, did you know you can wash your Alabama hat in the washing machine with a load of clothes? Use cold water and don't put it in the dryer. They even make special hat forms for putting it through the washer if you're worried about it losing it's shape but I've never had that problem. I wash baseball hats all the time.

  9. Not surprised, Japans' new president was just at the White House. She's conservative, & won by a large majority. They don't want unfettered immigration, they're a small country who wish to preserve their culture.

  10. 7-11 was started here in Dallas, Texas, it was owned by the Southland Corporation, but if memory serves, perhaps it was purchased by a Japanese company years ago. Those trees look like Ornamental Pine trees. Japan is definitely a different place from America.

  11. Have you ever shared why/how you live in Japan? I’m new to the channel and didn’t even realize you lived here until you made a small comment about it at a Japanese restaurant in Arizona (if I recall)

Would love to learn more about the details of your journey to Japan!

  12. I live 1 hour from New Orleans in Mississippi, but I’m from Alabama. But my nephew, who is British, used to live in Osaka, but is now in Kyoto. I have followed you guys across the the USA, loved your content

  13. Paige, you have gotten so thin. You remind me of an American actress Audrey Hepburn. So good to see you guys in Japan. My grandson got a minor in Japanese in college. Covid kept him from traveling there and possibly living for a while.

  14. How has your parents money not dried up yet or ur visa ran out? haven’t you been β€œtraveling” in the US for like a year now?
