Pontocho is a famous traditional alley in Kyoto that runs along the Kamogawa River. The street is lined with cozy restaurants, izakayas, and tea houses where visitors can experience authentic Japanese dining. At night, the glowing lanterns and old wooden houses make the place feel like stepping back into old Japan. Sometimes, lucky visitors may even catch a glimpse of a geisha or maiko walking quietly through the alley.
