Hilton Grand Vacations has opened its first resort in Kyoto, expanding its presence in Japan with the launch of Tradimo Kyoto Gojo, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club.
The property becomes the company’s third in the country and marks its debut in one of Japan’s most visited cultural destinations.
The resort features 63 one-bedroom suites and is located in Gojo, just one stop from Kyoto Station. Guests are within easy reach of major attractions including World Heritage sites, the historic Gion district and Nishiki Market.
“Kyoto is one of the world’s most iconic cultural destinations, and we’re honored to introduce a resort that reflects its heritage,” said Mark Wang, CEO of Hilton Grand Vacations.
“The opening of Tradimo Kyoto Gojo reflects the momentum of our growing opportunities in Japan. With three resorts now spanning the country — from the coastline of Okinawa to the hot springs of Odawara to the cultural heart of Kyoto — we’re giving our members an unmatched way to experience Japan’s traditions, natural beauty and rich culture.”
Rising 10 stories, the resort preserves the building’s original structure and façade, reimagined through the concept of kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing ceramics with gold. The design incorporates locally sourced materials such as Japanese cypress and bamboo, while drawing inspiration from traditional wooden townhouses known as kyo-machiya.
Indoor and outdoor spaces are blended throughout the property, with features including a Japanese moss garden at the entrance and a lobby designed to evoke a traditional Kyoto home. Elements such as Japanese paper partitions and tokonoma display alcoves showcase art and seasonal flowers, reflecting the city’s changing seasons.
Tradimo Kyoto Gojo joins The Bay Forest Odawara, a Hilton Club, and The Beach Resort Sesoko, a Hilton Club, as part of Hilton Grand Vacations’ growing portfolio in Japan. The company has operated in the country since 2003 and now serves more than 75,000 members.
As part of its expansion, Hilton Grand Vacations is partnering with the Kyoto Tourism Board to support sustainable tourism. The company is also contributing to local organisations including the Kyoto Center for Community Collaboration, as well as cultural events such as the Jidai Matsuri and Aoi Matsuri festivals.
