Tokyo/Osaka –
When Japan’s biggest baseball stars congregate, it’s a spectacle that is rarely matched in the sports world.
So once the stars — World Series champions Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Central League MVP Teruaki Sato and Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox sluggers Seiya Suzuki and Munetaka Murakami — signed up to join Samurai Japan on their quest for a World Baseball Classic repeat, I was determined to capture a wide view of the excitement.
As soon as I landed in Tokyo to cover this year’s World Baseball Classic, I was immediately on the lookout for anything WBC-related around the city. From the city’s skyline views, to the shinkansen platforms to the baseball field itself, the WBC envelops the city and I was thrilled to go full throttle seeking out a 360-degree view of the spectacle.
