A lot of people seem to be interested in Steven Borden’s nascent wrestling career. He hasn’t done much yet, but whenever he does, it gets attention.

The son of the legendary Sting (whose real name is Steve Borden) first came onto the scene for his father’s retirement match at AEW Revolution two years ago. Word soon spread that he was training with dad’s tag partner Darby Allin. Shortly after that we heard about him working with other AEW stars, then Borden the younger started wrestling in front of crowds.

Those matches started happening in AEW in December, and Tony Khan says Steven’s development is “a huge priority” for him and everyone at his wrestling company. At some point, that development brought the Son of Sting to work with Fred Rosser. The former Darren Young has been affiliated with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and their Los Angeles Dojo, so it makes sense that the next date on Borden’s calendar is an NJPW Academy Showcase event next Saturday (March 21):

The United States branch of New Japan has held these Academy Showcase cards in L.A. since 2023. Past editions have found there way onto NJPW’s YouTube, so there’s a decent chance this could be the first Steven Borden match fans get to see in full.

If he wrestles that is. It’s just says he’ll be at NJPW Academy’s 3rd Anniversary Showcase.
