Japan’s Suicide Forest! Aokigahara Jukai 🇯🇵 (2021)
Aokigahara Jukai, often called the “Sea of Trees,” lies at the base of Mount Fuji and is one of Japan’s most mysterious forests. Formed on ancient lava flows from a historic eruption of Fuji, the dense canopy and quiet, winding trails create an atmosphere that has fueled local legends for generations. Over time, stories of wandering spirits and unexplained experiences have given the forest a reputation as one of the most haunted places in Japan.
The footage in this video was filmed during my first visit back in 2021 (on my new video I said 8 years ago, but it looks like it was only 5 years ago). I’m sharing it now on my Chris Must List Raw page for those who want to see some of my older, unfiltered adventures—especially since I returned to the forest again yesterday for the first time in nearly a decade.

I've always been intrigued by that forest. Seen documentaries & movies about it. Loving your footage & camera work! We have some similar looking forests where I am in BC. Gotta be careful of out there regarding where you step. I always walk with a stick to check out the ground I'm about to step on just in case there's a hole. I also make sure I have on some good hiking boots – I broke both my tib & fib a few years ago in one leg just from stepping into a depression in the ground & twisting at the same time (was in the snow tho). They should change the name of that forrest. Don't call it the suicide forrest, it just gives people ideas. As a matter of fact, maybe we should take the word suicide out of the dictionary, so we literally just stop using the word. If we don't know the word, we don't get the idea.

Hey Chris, love your videos, this one was kind of creepy cool. you taught me something. I’m a city girl and just when I thought to myself “OMG hope he doesn’t get lost” you made the arrow with the branches. If I’m ever in the forest I will know to do that ❤
