Tokyo Japan 5 Days DIY Itinerary | Budget | ATM Withdrawal | Transportation | Travel Tips 🇯🇵 #tokyo

Planning a Tokyo DIY trip? Here’s our 5-day itinerary—simple, beginner-friendly, and perfect for those who want to explore Tokyo on their own pace without joining expensive packaged tours.

I covered top spots like Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya, Asakusa, Odaiba, Ginza, explored Ueno, enjoyed a full-day Mt. Fuji Tour via Klook, and spent a magical day at Tokyo DisneySea. I also included budget tips, ATM withdrawal guide, transportation hacks, and travel reminders to help you plan better.

📅 📌 My Tokyo Itinerary

📍 Day 1 — Arrival + Ueno Walk
• ✈️ Manila (NAIA T3) → Tokyo Narita T2
6:10 AM – 11:35 AM (4h 25 mins)
• 🚆 Narita to Ueno (Keisei Line recommended)
• 🏨 Check in: Tokyo Ueno Youth Hostel
• 🚶‍♂️ Explore Ueno at your own pace:
o Ameyoko Market
o Ueno Park
o Ueno Station area

📍 Day 2 — Full DIY: Shinjuku / Harajuku / Shibuya
• Shinjuku Gyoen
• Omoide Yokocho
• Harajuku Takeshita Street
• Meiji Shrine
• Shibuya Crossing & Hachiko
• Shibuya Sky (optional)

📍 Day 3 — Mt. Fuji Tour + Tokyo Station
⛰️ Mt. Fuji Tour via Klook
8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Mt. Fuji 5th Station
• Oshino Hakkai
• Lake Kawaguchiko
After returning:
• Explore Tokyo Station
• Ramen Street or Character Street

📍 Day 4 — Full DIY: Asakusa / Odaiba / Ginza
• Asakusa Senso-ji Temple
• Nakamise Street
• Train to Odaiba: DiverCity, Gundam, Rainbow Bridge view
• End in Ginza for dinner or Uniqlo Flagship

📍 Day 5 — Tokyo DisneySea
🎢 Full day at the only DisneySea in the world!
• Arrive early
• Ride priority rides first
• Stay until night for the shows

📍 Day 6 — Departure
• Make sure to arrive early in Narita
• Buy last-minute pasalubong

🏧 ATM Withdrawal Tips (GCash, Seven Bank)
• Yes, Seven Bank ATMs accept GCash Mastercard or GCash Visa via cardless withdrawal.
• Fees usually around ¥100–¥200 per withdrawal (varies).
• Limit is typically ¥100,000 per transaction.
• Better to withdraw once than multiple small withdrawals.

🚆 Transportation Tips
• Suica / Pasmo is your best friend
• Trains arrive exactly on time
• Always check Google Maps or Japan Travel by NAVITIME
• Walk a lot—Tokyo is very safe and walkable
• For Narita:
o Best for budget → Keisei Access Express
o Fastest → Skyliner

❓ Q&A Section
Q: Is DIY Tokyo difficult?
A: Not at all. Signs are clear, trains are efficient, and Google Maps works perfectly.

Q: Do I need a JR Pass?
A: For this itinerary, NO. Regular IC card (Suica/Pasmo) is enough.

Q: Mt. Fuji Tour or DIY?
A: If it’s your first time and winter, tour via Klook is easier and safer.

Q: Where is the best area to stay?
A: Ueno, Asakusa, or Shinjuku are beginner-friendly.

Q: DisneySea or Disneyland?
A: DisneySea! It’s the only one in the world.

  1. Hi Hero! i liked your vlog, first time ko mapanood travel vlod mo. Gusto ko nasiksik siya sa info as guide sa mga first timers sa japan and I'm happy dahil same area yung gusto ko sanang base and same time ng flight and itinerary din sana plan ko. Nagustuhan ko yung may visual ng pagplan ng itinerary na may map pa ng tokyo na may explanation ng paggroup ng puountahang areas per day, baka yun nadin gawin ko hehe tsaka naexplain na agad yung itinerary and expenses and not a separate video pa. What I don't like is it is too long. This could've been a 20 minute video kaso 20 mins na tsaka ka palang nakarating ng japan (the intro could've been condensed to 5 mins) hehe i feel also that your angle in yournintro should be head level, mas okay yun. 😊 nothing against you ha, I like the way you vlog, maymga info ka na sinabi na hindi na sinai ng iba or masadong vague/ in passing lang yung info, and I am fond of watching travel vloggers din kaya nararamdaman ko you'll get more followers pa. Following you on this Japan trip!
