In a heartfelt show of solidarity, the Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara (RCBM), together with its international partner, the Rotary Club of Kyoto-Fushimi (RCKF) in Japan, and the Moises Padilla Business Group of Agrivet Supplies, recently mobilized relief efforts to support families devastated by Typhoon Tino in Moises Padilla.
This relief mission was made possible through a generous donation from RCKF, which was entrusted to RCBM in association with the Rotary Club of Murcia-Tinabuay (RCMT). The contribution was used to purchase construction materials and essential supplies, ensuring that assistance reached those most in need.
Through the coordinated initiative, 35 households received vital relief packages to aid in recovery and rebuilding. Each family was provided with six corrugated roofing sheets, six plywood sheets, cooking pots, six kilos of rice and other basic necessities — critical items to restore shelter, nourishment and dignity in the aftermath of the storm.
The operation was carried out with the invaluable support of the local government unit of Moises Padilla, whose coordination ensured that aid was delivered promptly and effectively.
“Rotary extends its sincere appreciation to Hon. Mayor Ella Yulo, Vice-Mayor Felix Yulo, Barangay Captain Bernard Garcia, Councilor Vincent Garcia, Rtn./PP Glia Mabag, and all volunteers whose dedication and compassion made this relief mission a success,” said RCBM president April Kitagawa.
This initiative reflects Rotary’s enduring commitment to Service Above Self, proving that international solidarity and local collaboration can bring hope and tangible assistance to families rebuilding their lives after Typhoon Tino.*
