Rakuten Group has added credit card installment payments as a payment option at the time of booking on its travel reservation service “Rakuten Travel.”
Until now, only lump-sum payments were accepted for domestic accommodations and the “ANA Rakupack” and “JAL Rakupack” flight and hotel packages. It is now possible to choose installment payments in 3, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20, or 24 installments. Using installment payments incurs handling fees charged by the credit card company.
According to Rakuten Group, this change will not only allow users to pay their travel expenses in a planned manner in line with their lifestyle and schedules, but will also make it easier to select accommodations and plans that match their preferences, thereby improving convenience.
