A Comment from Director Minoru Ota Has Arrived

Director Minoru Ota shared his thoughts via a video message:

“The main staff and I have approached this work with a burning passion, challenging ourselves with new forms of expression because we wanted to deliver something to anime fans that they have never seen before. The core appeal of this work lies in its artistic backgrounds. Typically, backgrounds are meant to stay behind the characters, but this time, we intentionally increased their presence. It was a difficult task, but through countless retries, I believe we’ve created scenes where the art and the characters elevate one another. Production is currently reaching its climax, and the entire staff—including the cast—is breathing life into the work. I believe this will be a project that marks a new frontier for Kyoto Animation and resonates deeply with everyone who watches it. We hope our passion reaches you all the way from Kyoto. Please look forward to it.”
