🇯🇵 Kuromon Market: Osaka’s Ultimate Street Food | Exploring Retro Osaka: Shinsekai & Tsutenkaku

Welcome to Osaka, and come along with us for a food packed day that starts at Kuromon Ichiba Market and ends in the bright, buzzing streets of Shinsekai.

We kicked things off at Kuromon Ichiba Market, and the moment we stepped in, Amrita spotted taiyaki straight away. That set the tone for the rest of the market walk because there was something to try at every turn. We were genuinely surprised by how many seafood options were everywhere, especially the giant crab legs that looked unreal up close.

Sathya started with a strawberry daifuku, then finally tried something he had been waiting to taste in Japan, mochi coated in soybean powder. Both were a win, and he loved them. Amrita went for dorayaki, and we kept wandering through the market with that excited, hungry energy you get when every stall looks tempting.

Somehow, we also ended up fruit shopping. We picked up kumquats, and Amrita was obsessed with the strawberries. They were so sweet. Then it was back to snacking, with Amrita trying sweet potato chips, followed by shrimp tempura. Kuromon really felt like a place where you can just keep tasting a little bit of everything and never get bored.

After Kuromon, we headed to Shinsekai, and the vibe changed instantly. The streets were packed, lights everywhere, and vending machines on the sides selling both cold and hot drinks. We also spotted the Eiffel Tower of Shinsekai, and it was such a fun landmark to see in the middle of all that energy. Shinsekai was seriously crowded, but that is part of what makes it feel so alive.

We kept the night going with sake and edamame beans, then took a break from eating to play a shooting game. Amrita beat Sathya with a 3 to 2 score, and she was very proud of it. We wrapped up the night the best way possible, with kushikatsu in Shinsekai, crispy skewers and a perfect end to a busy Osaka evening.

If you are planning Osaka, Kuromon Ichiba Market and Shinsekai are such a good combo for one day. One is all about tasting your way through a market, and the other is all about neon streets, games, food, and that classic Osaka atmosphere.

Thanks for watching, and we will see you in the next video.
