The official dance and performance team, the Honeys, held auditions this season in three locations: their home base in Fukuoka, as well as Taipei for the second time since last year, and Kumamoto for the first time, selecting seven new members and 11 continuing members (three of whom are from Taipei). We report on the Honeys’ current status as they strive to evolve, becoming more global and more locally rooted, with input from team representatives.

Following on from last year, the Taipei Auditions were held. Why do The Hawks continue to hold their selection process overseas? A team representative explained the reason for holding the auditions in Taipei:
“Under the team slogan ‘Aim to be the best in the world!’, we aim to transcend the boundaries of sports and create entertainment that delivers excitement, courage, and dreams to the world.
To achieve this, it is essential to constantly discover new talent and diverse personalities, and continue to hone our performance.Last year, we expanded our doors overseas for the first time (to Taipei), and as a result, three members from Taipei joined the team in the 2025 season, breathing a fresh air into the team.
By continuing to hold the event in Taipei, we hope to not only increase global recognition, but also spread The Hawks’ aspirations to the world through the Honeys’ performances.”

This year, the second time the audition has been held, candidates with even more diverse ground gathered than last year. A baseball team representative reflected, “It was a fascinating audition.”
“Despite the unfamiliar environment and language barrier, I was touched by their enthusiasm to become part of Honeys, and once again felt the significance of this project.
Perhaps as a result of our activities in the first year gradually gaining traction in Taiwan, the level of the candidates was extremely high, making the selection process extremely difficult. Each and every one of them had a shining personality, and to be honest, I felt that the auditions were so fascinating that I wanted to ask all of them to join.
We don’t intend for this project to be limited to simply recruiting members. We want to develop it into a symbolic activity that will deepen friendship between Japan and Taiwan through ongoing exchanges.”
[Kumamoto Venue] A team that is more deeply rooted in Kyushu. The passion of each player was visible because there were only a few players.

As a new initiative for the 2026 season, auditions will be held in Kumamoto for the first time. Kumamoto was chosen as the venue after previous events such as Okinawa, with the desire to “make The Hawks feel closer to people as the only NPB team in Kyushu.”
“Although the number of applicants for the Kumamoto venue was not as high as in Fukuoka, we were amazed by the enthusiasm of each individual. Some people even chose the Kumamoto venue over Fukuoka, saying, ‘I want to be able to watch my performance from up close without being buried in a large crowd,’ and this made us realize once again the significance of opening up the door to places other than Fukuoka. As a baseball team with roots in Kyushu, we would like to continue our efforts in Kumamoto and other regions in the future, and create opportunities to encounter even more talent and passion.”
Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Taipei. In each location, the candidates took on the challenge with a sincere love The Hawks. Their shared passion has led the Honeys to take on the 2026 season as an even more passionate team.
The girls are working hard today to polish their smiles as they prepare for the exhibition game against Tokyo Yakult Swallows on Tuesday, March 3rd, which will be the unveiling of the new system. Please look forward to the new excitement that will unfold at MIZUHO PayPay Dome FUKUOKA in the 2026 season.
