Wikimedians of Japan User Group participated in the Open Source Conference 2025Kyoto, held at Kyoto Research Park on August 3, 2025, by exhibiting at a booth and holding a seminar.

Summers in Kyoto have been particularly hot in recent years. Despite the heat, the gatherings of people who came together for open source were also very lively. Still, it wasn’t as intense as Comic Market, where people said “clouds would form over the venue.”

Just like outside, it was quite hot inside the OSC venue, and people from various open source communities were gathered there.

The session included an overview of Wikidata, which has been explained at OSC in the past.

Regarding the content of the session, I have been wondering whether I should update the content or talk about a different topic, so I am thinking of choosing a different session topic for the next OSC onwards.

We are also gradually updating the contents of our booth, and gathering all the necessary equipment, we hope to raise awareness of the project among people who know about Wikipedia but didn’t know there were other projects.
