Ramen Shop Culture is quite different in the USA vs Japan. I had quite the Ramen Culture Shock experience when visiting the US recently. So, in this video, I’m going to breakdown the difference between Ramen in Japan and Ramen in USA. I went to Ramen shop in San Francisco in little Tokyo. The ramen itself was decent, but I had culture shock experience eating at the restaurant. I’ve lived in Japan now for more than 15 years and don’t visit the US very often so that probably plays a lot into my ramen shop culture shock experience. I thought I’d take the time out in this video, to highlight some of the differences I noticed. At the same time, I should note that I respect both ways of doing things and what works in one country may not work in another country. And to be fair, I know not all US ramen shops are like the one shown in this video, but I just wanted to use it as a simple example. I hope you enjoy my ramen culture shock experience and might be able glean some knowledge on Japanese ramen manners and how to eat Japanese ramen.
