About Universal Studios Japan
Universal Studios Japan (also known as USJ) is celebrating a major milestone in 2026: its 25th Anniversary! Opening in Osaka City in 2001, the park has grown to become one of the most visited amusement parks in the world.
Covering approx 54 ha, Universal Studios Japan consists of 10 different areas, featuring fun and thrilling attractions with famous movie themes such as Harry Potter, Super Mario, Minions, Jurassic Park, and popular Japanese franchises like Detective Conan and Monster Hunter.
In 2026, the park will host a year-long celebration for its 25th anniversary under the theme “Discover U!!!”, along with its world-famous seasonal events. In this article, I’d like to share the USJ event schedule of 2026 so you won’t miss the best time to visit there!

Events at Universal Studios Japan in 2026
Universal Cool Japan 2026 (Date: January 30, 2026 ~)
The popular annual event “Universal Cool Japan” returns in 2026 with a massive lineup of 5 major entertainment brands! This year, fans can dive into the worlds of Detective Conan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and for the first time, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
Detective Conan: The World (Date: January 30 to June 30, 2026)
Experience the ultimate mystery with three attractions: the “Detective Conan: The Escape” real escape game, the “Story Ride” on Hollywood Dream, and the “Mystery Restaurant” which combines food with a live mystery show.
Jujutsu Kaisen: The Real 4-D (Date: January 30 to August 18, 2026)
The hit anime returns with a completely new original story. Experience the cursed energy with vibration and water effects in this 4-D theater attraction.
Peril at the Masquerade — Inspired by Keigo Higashino (Date: January 30 to June 30, 2026)
Based on the famous “Masquerade” mystery novel series, this participation-style mystery show and buffet invites you to become a character in the story and solve the case at the Hotel Cortesia.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Moliver’s Feast (Date: Ongoing to May 17, 2026)
Celebrate the release of the latest game with a themed restaurant and an AR stamp rally where you can search for environmental creatures throughout the park.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (Date: Early Summer 2026)
For the first time ever, the world of Frieren comes to USJ. Details on this collaboration will be announced later in the year.
Uni Spring 2026 (Date: January 30 to April 5, 2026)
Uni Haru (Uni Spring) is a special campaign to support students making memories during their spring break. The event features discounted passes for students and special live performances by popular artists on select dates.
Space Fantasy The Ride x Zedd (Date: January 30 to August 17, 2026)
Space Fantasy The Ride CLUB ZEDD REMIX
The popular indoor coaster collaborates with Grammy-winning DJ/Producer Zedd! Enjoy a new “auditory” ride experience where the coaster’s motion syncs perfectly with Zedd’s original remixes.
25th Anniversary Event: “Discover U!!!” (Date: March 4, 2026 to March 30, 2027)
2026 marks the 25th Anniversary of Universal Studios Japan! The year-long celebration titled “Discover U!!!” will kick off in March. Expect special greetings, exclusive anniversary merchandise, food, and street entertainment that encourages guests to discover a new version of themselves.
Special Event: Universal Easter Celebration 2026 (Expected: March to June 2026)

A colorful and cute event featuring Minions, Snoopy, and Sesame Street characters in Easter costumes. The park will be decorated with colorful eggs and flowers, perfect for spring photos.
Special Event: NO LIMIT! Summer 2026 (Expected: July to August 2026)

Beat the heat with USJ’s famous “soaking wet” events! Expect water parades where Mario, Pokémon, and other characters splash water on the crowd. The One Piece Premier Summer is also expected to return during this season with its high-quality live show.
Special Event: Halloween Event 2026 (Expected: September to November 2026)

USJ’s Halloween is legendary. During the day, enjoy cute “Hahaha! Halloween” greetings. At night, the park transforms into Halloween Horror Nights, where zombies roam the streets and terrifying haunted houses open their doors.
Special Event: Universal Christmas 2026 (Expected: November 2026 to January 2027)

The park shines with winter magic during the Christmas season. Look forward to a gigantic Christmas tree, holiday shows, and special winter menus.
