Woman injured after being stabbed in Tokyo, with the suspect at large

A woman was stabbed on a street in Tokyo’s Shinjuku Ward on Monday, with the suspect fleeing the scene, according to investigative sources.

Police received an emergency call at around noon saying the woman had been attacked. Investigative sources said the woman, believed to be an employee of an aesthetic salon, was attacked by a man outside the building housing the salon, local media reported.

She sustained injuries to her stomach and chest but was conscious when she was taken to the hospital and said she knew the man, the reports said.

Tokyo’s Metropolitan Police Department is searching for the suspect.
