A 7.6-magnitude earthquake shook Japan’s northern region late on Monday, December 8, prompting tsunami warnings and orders for residents to evacuate.

This footage, taken by X user @kuma07121 from their window, captures the sound of a tsunami warning blaring in Hakodate, on Japan’s Hokkaido island. “The tsunami warning siren feels terrifying,” they wrote.
