TOKYO (TR) – A man struck a pedestrian as he plunged to his death the TV Asahi headquarters in Minato Ward earlier this month. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries, police said, reports TV Asahi (Dec. 10).
Just before 7:00 p.m. on December 10, a passerby alerted police about the man after he fell from the TV Asahi building onto a street in Roppongi.
According to police, the man is believed to be in his 20s or 30s. He was found collapsed on the street and confirmed dead at the scene.
A male passerby in his 40s who was on the street at the time was struck by the man. He suffered minor injuries, including bruising to his left shoulder.
At the time of the accident, the area around was busy with pedestrians viewing illuminations along Keyakizaka-dori, the tree-lined avenue within Roppongi Hills.
In response to an interview with Nikkan Sports, the station’s public relations department said that the man who died was a staff member from outside the company. The public relations department said, “The police are currently investigating the details of the incident. We offer our deepest condolences for the loss of this staff member.”
