India’s Ambassador-designate to Japan, Nagma M Mallick, met Urakawa Mayor Hiraku Ikeda on Friday and thanked him for the strong support extended to the Indian community living in the country.

The Indian Embassy in Japan said the meeting reflected Urakawa’s welcoming approach and the mayor’s efforts to ensure harmony, safety, and cooperation among residents, including foreign workers and families.

During the week, Mallick also held several high-level meetings in Tokyo to strengthen the Special Strategic and Global Partnership between India and Japan.

Earlier this week, Mallick met Speaker of the House of Representatives Fukushiro Nukaga to review the steady progress in bilateral relations.
