  1. Not bad by any standard(except for the fact you couldn't use the on board toilet)and thank goodness you didn't have to go on that other coach that was in Trinidad bus station. That coach had clearly seen better days.

  2. 6:47 Sitting leaning forwards, seat fully reclined 😅. I'm hoping that's because it was stuck that way.

  3. Are you not worried that you will no longer be able to get an ESTA and will now have to apply for a visa for the US? Great video though! I just have too many ties to the US to make going to Cuba worth it!

  4. We have Yutong busses in Pakistan. They are very good. Newer versions are tall enough to fit 125cc bikes below. So we use such servicesvto take our bikes North to then unload them there and avoid highways in the plains.

  5. "Kicking and screaming." As if Cubans were against leaving behind their old shitty transports. Dial down your condescendence.

  6. I`ve been to Cuba in summer and travelled with Viazul buses from Havana to Varadero, Santa Clara, Holguin, Santiago and Camaguey. The country is beautiful and absolutly safe, but the economic situation is quite severe. Many people are begging and even with enough money in the pocket, it`s hard to buy the things you need. Unfortunately, taking the train as a foreigner is really demanding, time consuming and unpredictable. Taking Viazul works well, as long as your credit card is not issued in the US.

  7. Locked Restroom ? When one has minimal Food intake in a socialist regime , you don't need no stinking Restroom. Promoting Trips to a 3rd World , speech oppressed communist Country ? You must be some new type of wokeass Fidelista bloke.

  8. I visited Cuba in 2012, so a good 13 years ago. Times were tough back then… but in many ways better than today actually – a sad testament to Cuban economy and society.

Even then, foreign tourists like me were required to buy relatively expensive tickets and travel in these AC touring coaches (Santiago – Camaguey – Trinidad – Santa Clara – Havana. But I was lucky to befriend a local Cuban who took me around, enabling me to experience long-distance traveling, one segment, Cuban style. Ours was a flat bed truck with a tarp cover! Standing only.

Again, that was 13 years ago when times were better. Spare a thought for the poor Cuban people today.

  9. Hi Nonstop Eurotrip I think that first bus at the depot was used in an old James Bond movie lol, also watch the train trip, This is Cuba, the bus was way better.

  10. The buses like the one you've seen entering the Trinidad station are popularly nicknamed by Cubans "aspirina", referring to the rough ride, so rough that you eventually forget about the headache if you had it when boarding. As to Viazul, I don't think there are any discounts for Cuban but rather the opposite: Cubans can only buy the tickets if they have the residence abroad or if somebody from abroad buys a ticket for them, Viazul is mainly for tourists, but at least it (somehow) works, though lately they started to merge departures to save the fuel. And 5$ is a fair (and normal) price for the taxi ride between the neighborhoods in Havana. You can pay less on "almendrones" (vintage US cars) or "gacelas" (vans), but they only operate on fixed routes and you pay in "moneda nacional". By the way, did you visit Cienfuegos? One of the most elegant cities in Cuba, nicknamed "La perla del sur".

  11. It is good to see Cuba making improvements I wish we would stop making things about political differences and just help other countries out.
