Step inside the Basketball Hall of Fame and you’re walking through living history. Over 400 inductees line these walls. Legends like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, and Shaq O’Neal have their stories told here. Check out Shaq’s size 22 shoe on display. Icons like Sue Bird, Maya Moore, and Cheryl Swoops represent the women who changed the game forever. The second floor takes you through the evolution of the game itself. See where it all started with Dr. James Nay Smith in that first peach basket. Then watch how basketball exploded into the global phenomenon we know today. So, we completed the tour and this is the gift shop. >> So, at the end of the tour, they drop you off into the gift shop, and this is where it is.
Took a quick tour through the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts and it was absolutely incredible. Over 430 legends are honored here, from Michael Jordan and Larry Bird to Kobe Bryant and Shaq O’Neal (his size 22 shoe is MASSIVE btw).
The women’s game is represented strong too with icons like Sue Bird, Maya Moore, and Sheryl Swoopes. You can actually see where Dr. James Naismith started it all with that first peach basket and then walk through how basketball took over the world.
Best part? Center Court lets you shoot around on a real court right in the museum. This place hits different when you realize you’re standing where basketball history lives.
If you love hoops, this is a bucket list spot. Period.
