Should you visit Jimbo, the new coolest neighborhood in the world as rated by Timeout magazine? Yes and also no. Yes, because Jimbo is a nice area of Tokyo filled with old school charm, bookstores spilling out on the streets and cafes and that for hundreds of years. It is quite fun to walk around and explore in this area and that’s why I also have been recommending it for years. But also no, because while it is a really nice area, it is nowhere near being the coolest in the world yet alone in central Tokyo even. So, if you only have a limited amount of time in Japan or Tokyo, going out of your way to visit Jimbo, it’s not really that worth it. But if you have a couple of hours to spend and not sure where to go, Jimbo might be a good addition. Just kind of manage your expectations because it is not really that cool.
