(Hitoshi Suzuki)
A new glass-walled giraffe exhibition room was unveiled at Obihiro Zoo in the city of Obihiro, Hokkaido, on December 6. The zoo has three reticulated giraffes. From the second-floor viewing area, the giraffes can be observed at the same eye level as them. When Maple, an 11-year-old male giraffe about 5 meters tall, ate food right in front of them, the children exclaimed in surprise, “It’s huge!”
